Hi! I’m Madeline.
I’m a research-driven scientist and designer with a mission to make complex information approachable and engaging for a variety of audiences. My background spans cross multiple disciplines, including science, healthcare, Spanish, education, and art. I have a MS in Medical Visualization and Human Anatomy from the University of Glasgow and Glasgow School of Art, a certificate in Natural Science Illustration from the Rhode Island School of Design, and a BS in Biology and Spanish with high honors from Butler University.
In my professional career, I’ve worked in a variety of settings, from the Panamanian rainforest to museums, medical schools, and scientific journals. I currently lead the animation department at the Journal of Medical Insight (jomi.com), and have the honor of creating visual summaries of case studies for world-renowned surgeons.
On my time off I can be found in a ballet or hip hop studio, hiking, or hanging with my pet bearded dragon, Melon. Feel free to reach me at madeline.verbica@gmail.com to discuss potential collaborations.
